Review: EOS Lip Balm

Let's face it: we are all in need of a good lip balm every now and then. To be honest, though,  I went most of my life without ever using any sort of chapstick or lip balm. The reason lied in the fact that I had never tried a very good one nor did I make the effort to. I assumed all were the same and they were at least supposed to serve the same purpose. However, the cheap ones I tried as a kid and growing up failed me because I felt like all they ever did was dry my lips out, which defeats the purpose!

I just never liked the way they made m lips feel and how sticky they were. So I pretty much gave up on even thinking about lip balms, even though there were times where I was in desperate need of some.

I had heard about EOS constantly all over the Internet as well as real life. I would be sitting in class seeing someone have one of those cute little colorful eggs sitting on their desk. I knew it had to be pretty decent for literally everyone and their moms to be using this stuff. Out of curiosity (and because I really liked how it looks, to be real) I decided to give it a try and boy was I glad I did.

Awesome Youtubers: Alli & Charles Trippy!

Okay I know, I know it has been a real long time since my last post. Long story short, I moved into college a couple of weeks ago and finally felt like now was a good time to start posting again (hopefully regularly). In light of recent events, I thought the best thing to come back with would be a YouTube post regarding the amazingly awesome couple of the interwebz Alli and Charles Trippy.

Oh wow where do I even start? There is so much when it comes to these two and their channel. For starters, they've been daily vlogging NON-STOP for FIVE YEARS. On August 12, 2013 they won the Guinness World Record for their achievement. I mean, how many people can say they're done that?

Backstreet's Back, ALRIGHT?! - Backstreet Boys In A World Like This

So pretty much anyone who knows me knows my obsession with the Backstreet Boys. Seriously, they may or may not be the greatest thing to happen to this world. I listened to them as a kid but I'm probably much more into them now that I'm an adult haha.

Anyway, at the end of July they released a new album marking their 20th anniversary and the first time being all together again (with Kevin!) in seven years. I've been looking forward to hearing this album since I first found out they were working on it which was well over a year ago. So, I really felt like I needed to write an official review on this new record due to the fact of how impressed I am with it.

I also thought it'd be appropriate to touch on the fact that I had the absolute pleasure of being able to see them live on their In a World Like This tour last Friday! My craziness of being a superfan brought me to fly two states away to Irvine, California (since they came nowhere closer to the Pacific Northwest!) in order to check this off my bucket list.

Netflix Instant Queue

I don't know about you, but I spend virtually all of my free time taking advantage of the beauty that is Netflix. I've been using Netflix for quite some time now. What started off with just being mailed a DVD once a week has now become something I can watch whenever I want. Granted, Netflix streaming doesn't exactly have as wide of a variety as the DVD side. However, I still immensely enjoy streaming content.

From time to time I will watch the occasional movie. But what I really cherish are the TV shows that are right at my fingertips. I've always been a huge TV person/watcher and now I watch more on my iPhone than on my actual television. I thought it would be fun to share what my holy grail programs are that I keep in my Instant Queue. This way, you can get an idea of what kind of shows I love watching and maybe even discover some new favorites of your own. After all, their Netflix Instant Queue says a lot about a person.

In the order as it appears on my Netflix (which is the order of which it was added, first being oldest):

Prison Break

This is one of my all-time favorite shows...ever. Prison Break is my first obsession from Netflix. I only discovered it two years ago but I love it as if I'd been watching it for years. This show is amazing. So amazing, in fact, I watched the first 3 seasons in only a couple of days. I don't know what life would be like without this in existence. Even though I've already seen the whole series, i still watch it over and over again because it never gets old. This is a must watch! I HIGHLY recommend! (but then again, I highly recommend all of these shows :p)

Drugstore Beauty Haul

Hello Internet! I know, I know. I have been gone for far too long. I've missed blogging but have seriously had some major blogger's block. I just haven't thought of anything too interesting or inspiring to blog about. I'm sure I'll have more to write about once I start school (although less time lolol) in the fall. Speaking of school, I spent the past week shopping to the point of exhaustion for my upcoming college experience.

In one of my previous posts, my college haul, I mentioned that I was moving into an apartment to attend a community college for two years before transferring. Well, long story short: things have changed. I'm not attending a 4-year university and will be living in the dorms! I'm excited for this and have been anticipating the shopping for dorm/college stuff for a very long time and that time finally came. Even though I don't move into my dorm for another two months (Sept. 20th, to be exact), I wanted to get a head start on shopping so I could get my hands on things before everything is picked clean (and because I was anxious).

I bought a lot of stuff recently and I originally wanted to do a haul of this stuff but, honestly, it would be pretty hard to make a post of all this stuff. If you're interested in seeing the stuff I bought for my dorm then let me know! But for now, I thought I would show you the makeup goodies I bought on one of my shopping trips from a couple of days ago.

I haven't really used any of these products yet, aside from the occasional swatch. This is why some of the products are already opened (I couldn't wait!). Most of them are from Target, with the exception of a few items. After that long-ass intro, here it is!:

My Haircare/Hair Routine

So today I thought I'd do a haircare post to explain the products and steps I use to (attempt to) keep my hair under control. So maybe those of you who have a similar hair type can get some ideas and try out some new products. So here's what I do!

(please excuse my face in this picture; I got massively sunburn and just in general I look bad)

All of the products I use
First of all, I have thick, dry hair I'm always looking to get hydrating or moisturizing products or products that are specifically for curly hair. Since my hair has grown out, it has been a lot more wavy than curly.

Liebster Award 2.0

So I've been nominated (again!) for the Liebster Award, this time by Sarah from Eyeshadow Addicts Anonymous. I though I would do this again because, hey, why not! New questions, new people to nominate: let's get started!
Questions:

1. Lipstick or Lipgloss?
Probably lipstick because I love the color payoff it gives! I think lipgloss is used to further enhance the color.

2. What do you have the most trouble with during makeup application? Eyeliner, brows, eyeshadow, etc?
I've never been that great at eyeliner, particularly liquid. I'm horrible!

3. What is your dream car?
This has definitely always been a Mustang Convertible. I would also really love a Lamborghini :)

5 Random Things in My Room Tag

I know. I know. I've been MIA from the blog world for the past little while but I'm back now! I've seen some other bloggers partake in this fun tag so I thought, why not?! Before we jump right into the tag, I just wanted to point out (and do a shameless self-promotion) that all of these pictures are from my Instagram which you can find at username 00bree. Now, onto the tag!

1.Charles Trippy/CTFxC/Internet Killed Television Pick Necklace
If you aren't aware of the awesomeness that is the Trippy family or Internet Killed Television, you can check them out here. Last Fall, Alli and Charles handmade 1000 of these pick necklaces and I was lucky enough to get my hands on one before they quickly sold out. CTFXC FTW!

Fashion Faves: Brittany from Glee

If you like fashion and TV, well then you should keep reading and/or check out my previous Celebspiration on Silver from 9O21O here. This time I really wanted to show my appreciation for the lovely yet crazy Brittany S. Pierce from one of my favorite shows, Glee.

Let me start this by acknowledging how amazing this girl is. She's definitely one of my favorites on the show. She's hilarious, weird, insane, talented, and has great fashion sense.

College Haul!

I am so excited to be moving away and off to college in a couple of weeks. I'll be attending a community college for two years before transferring to a 4-year university. So instead of moving into a dorm right away (which was my original intention; I was planning on starting out a 4-year school but things changed) I'll be moving into my very first apartment! Yay! It'll be just a tiny studio to start off with because where I'm going rent is crazy high. Anyway, I titled this post College Haul instead of Apartment Haul because I didn't want to exclude reader who are moving into a dorm in the fall. Almost everything I'll be buying is used for apartments and dorms alike. I will be buying kitchen and bathroom stuff, though, which standard dorms usually do not require.

I have only purchased a few things so far but still wanted to share with you guys in case you're going off to college as well and maybe aren't sure what to get. The next time I go shopping and buy more stuff I'll be sure to do a part two (or however many parts it will take).

I will say where I got these items but I wont put links because I find that a lot of things are in the store but not online and vice versa. Shopko was (technically still is but today is the last day) having a huge summer sale type thing were literally almost every single item in the store was discounted, most of them greatly. I found this to be the perfect opportunity to start my college shopping and save a ton! So here's what I bought:

Awesome YouTuber: Olga Kay!

I did a previous post about one of my all-time favorite YouTubers Shane Dawson (which you can read here) and thought I would continue this trend by discussing another great person of the Internet: Miss Olga Kay.

I discovered Olga through Shane Dawson (shocker) almost 4 years ago now. So I've been watching her videos for quite some time. Similar to Shane, I prefer to watch her vlogs more than any other type of video; I find them the most entertaining.

Bath & Body Works Eau de Toilette Moonlight Path

I apologize in advance for the poor quality pictures. I really don't have a good place to take pics at nor do I have very good lighting. But don't worry, I'm working on it! Anyway, I really wanted to do a post on one of my favorite BBW scents: Moonlight Path.

This lovely fragrance was one of my very first from BBW (first one being Japanese Cherry Blossom). I got this as a Christmas gift and immediately fell in love.

NerdMania: L.A. Noire

Now, I'm not one for the massively played, online multiplayer, magical or mindless killing games (not that GTA isn't about killing but there's more to it - I'll talk about that game another time). I've always been into the mission-based games with a storyline. My all-time favorite game production company is Rockstar Games and my top four favorite games come from these geniuses. One of them is L.A. Noire.

This game was released in June of 2011. I remember actually getting up really early to get to Target as they opened so I could get my hands on it. I was only 17 at the time so they wouldn't let me buy it and I had them hold it for my mom to go pick it up later :( but I digress.

Fashion Faves: Silver from 9O21O

So I wanted to start a new 'series', if you will, where I post my favorite fashions or even makeup looks from celebrities (and by celebrities, I really mean characters from TV shows, movies, etc. because let's face it; I really don't follow or pay much attention to celebrities in real life). I'll be watching a show or movie and there's always my favorite person who I think has amazing style. I just always wish I had there clothes, basically. So I'm going to start sharing these styles that I'm in love with!
I'm starting with Erin Silver from my beloved show that recently ended, 90210. Let's be real here; this show has got it going on when it comes to fashion. I don't think I pay more attention to clothes and styles more than on this show.

Summer 2013 Wishlist ☼

With Summer among us (10 days to be exact), there comes new summer make-up must-haves. Below, I have complied a list of some of the products I am dying to get my hands on most this warm, sunny, season. The next time I go shopping, I will make it my mission to acquire these items that I so desire for the summer holiday. In no particular order, here are some of my current cravings!

Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon

I think this color is beautiful and perfect for this time of year. Especially summery, it even has watermelon in the name, which is an essential snack to keep cool during the hot days (hehe). Anyway, I think this would be great to have as it is extremely moisturizing and has a lovely color selection but isn't too heavy. This one in particular is a very pretty light, pinkish red.

Secret Life of the American Teenager is over :(

Last Tuesday marked the very last episode of the teen-drama filled ABC Family original series The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Since watching the series finale, I felt like giving the show a proper send-off by writing my thoughts of how it ended as well as the show as a whole.
I will start by saying the show used to be a lot better than when it came to an end. The concept and controversial subject matter made for a very emotional and entertaining television show. The acting hasn't always been the most amazing, but it definitely lost it's spark and faded toward the end.

More New Obsession Worthy Songs

I'm always on the lookout for new (whether that be actually new or just something I'd never heard before) songs. I feel the need to share as I'm listening to these songs now nonstop and think they're amazing. Hopefully, if you're looking for something new to listen to these might give you an idea.
Massive Attack
First, I wanted to talk about this group and their songs as a collective because it's already hard enough to describe their musical style even once. Their genre is explained as trip-hop although I don't find this title fitting as most of their songs don't really have an ounce of hip-hop element. I would say it's more electronic, psychedelic, possibly even trance-like. Whatever it is, I just am absolutely in love with it.

The Liebster Award ♥

Yesterday I was blogless because I was super busy: I graduated high school! But now I am back and dying to post again. A couple days ago I was nominated to partake in this fun award by Everything & Nothing and thought it was a brilliant idea to get to know some fellow bloggers a little better. So here I am and I hope you enjoy!
RULES:
1. Each nominee must answer the 11 questions that were asked by the blogger that nominated them.
2. You must choose 11 bloggers with under 200 followers to pass the award onto.
3. Then make 11 questions for them to answer.
4. Go to their page and tell them about their nomination.
5. No tag backs.

Here are the questions I was asked:

1. What is your favorite book?
I am currently enjoying Tina Fey's Bossypants because she is hilarious and so is her book

Review: CHI Silk Infusion

Hello blogosphere! How's everybody's week been? Mine has been quite fantastic considering I'm graduating tomorrow (which I'm pretty stoked for, naturally). Today my Senior class took our traditional final field trip to Silverwood, which is a very large them park in Idaho (in case you aren't familiar with the Pacific Northwest). It was a long, hot, and sunny day. My hair got just a little (understatement) messed up from the wind from the rides, the sweat, sun, and the windy bus ride. So as soon as I arrived back at my humble abode I took it upon myself to take a nice cool shower.

One of my fairly new go-to products when looking for moisture, shine, and softness is, of course, the CHI Silk Infusion.

Jumping on the Bandwagon: TOMS!

Last year this huge new trend started popping up everywhere. Yes, I'm talking about the infamous TOMS shoes. I will admit, at first I was not digging them whatsoever. I didn't really get why everyone was so obsessed with them. I thought they just looked weird. Eventually, they grew on me. I started to like the simplistic look of them. Not to mention I'm a huge fan of shoes you can just slip on and go.
One of the reasons I didn't like them in the beginning had to do with the colors. Everyone I saw would always be wearing grey, beige, or navy and I did not find those choices of colors very appealing (except on guys they're perfectly fine).

Glee Season 4 Finale

I know, I know. I'm a little late, but better late than never, right? Glee is one of my favorite shows and felt it was necessary to do a post on the recent season finale. Let me start by saying that season 4 was not my favorite. It doesn't all rest on the fact that most of the best characters left and aren't in the glee club anymore. It has to do with who replaced them. Obviously, Puck, Finn, Kurt, Rachel, Mercedes, Mike, Quinn and Santana are pretty much irreplaceable. However, I just wasn't a big fan of the new kids really at all. Ryder, Jake, and Marley were especially boring and annoying.
Now, about the last episode. I felt it was a good episode. I really enjoyed the bit regarding gay marriage. I loved the old couple. A cried a little when she asked her partner to marry her. Of course, I really want Blaine and Kurt to get married already.

Dry/Frizzy/Curly Hair Tips

Those of you who have been given the amazing  gift of having luscious locks ( at least, that's how we want them to be) know also how difficult it is to maintain the mane. I have extremely thick hair, a lot of it, and it's also curly. All of these factors combine call for having really dry and frizzy hair. It's like no matter what we do, no matter how many expensive products we splurge on for our hair, we still can't get it perfect. We may not be able to have perfectly soft and shiny hair always and forever, but we can sure as hell try and come pretty close. There are definitely products out there that help us out immensely. There are also a few tips and tricks to dealing with the curly and dry hair that can really have an impact. I though I would share my most used ones with you today.
(I just LOVE Shakira's hair)
One thing that is now vital to my hair survival is something that I probably should have started doing a very long time ago. I feel like I was told this so many times but just ignored it on the assumptions it would never work and just make managing my hair even more difficult. I am talking about using a wide tooth comb instead of a brush.

Awesome YouTuber: Shane Dawson!

I'm such a YouTube junkie I figured it would only be appropriate if I started making posts about my favorite people of YouTube, and there are a lot of them! So I wanted to start this off right by talking about my favorite YouTuber of all time: Shane Dawson!
I have been watching this funny mofo for 4 years now and he was actually one of the very first channels I started watching and subscribed to. I had no idea there was this whole online community of content creators, comedians, vloggers, filmmakers, and musicians, Once I found out about it, I never went back to life without YouTube.

Review: The Body Shop Body Butters

I am back with yet another blog post about The Body Shop! You can probably tell by now that I kind of like The Body Shop. They are just an all-around great store. In my last post about TBS, which you can read here, I mention that I joined their member club. After you join, you are gifted a free item (or items) worth up to $10 of your choosing. One of the products I chose was the Coconut Body Butter.

Let me start off by saying that I've been much of a fan of lotions and I'd never tried a body butter before. It sounds weird but I've just never liked the greasy, oily, residue they give you and I guess I've never cared enough to look for a good quality one.

Hashtag Shows That Need To Come Back

Good afternoon world! I just so happened to be on Twitter yesterday (like every day, really) and was checking out the Trending Topics when I saw this one:
Now, this can be interpreted as old, classic shows that just plain stopped being made (most people probably saw it as this one) but I, however wanted to use this as an excuse to talk about two of my favorite shows that ended long before their time. I absolutely adore these shows and have loved them even long after they left this world. I dedicate this blog post to all the television shows that were killed too soon.

The L.A. Complex

This show launched on the CW during April of 2012. It had sort of a weird season schedule as the first was 6 episodes long and then there was a 6 week break until the second season, which consisted of another 6 episodes, started.

Current Candle Favorite: Beach Cabana from Bath & Body Works

I don't know about you, but I am IN LOVE with Bath & Body Works candles. They just can't really be beat. I'm an especially festive person so of course I always get candles to match the season/holiday. My current candle craze happens to be the Beach Cabana candle by Slatkin & Co.

I always make it a priority to make a trip to BBW right after Christmas so i can catch their infamous semi-annul sale. I am so in love with this place and I make sure to take advantage of the great deals offered during these sales. So I went after Christmas this year intending to get pretty much any 3-wick candle as they were having the 2 for $20 special. When I got there, though, I didn't find those candles, but i did discover a display with 3-wick candles FOR ONLY  8 DOLLARS!? Some of the choices were obviously clearance Christmas ones, while the rest were very summery, resort or beach themed. I found this one and absolutely fell in love with it.

New Obsession-Worthy Songs

Hello interwebs! Today I thought I would share what I've currently been obsessing over and maybe give you some new music ideas, because I know I'm always looking for fresh tunes. All of these songs I literally heard for the first time a couple of days ago and have been listening to nonstop. Let me know if you enjoy these as much as I do! <3
Get Lucky - Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams
I've never really listened to Daft Punk before, or Pharrell for that matter. I was on Spotify and figured I should check out what is currently the Number 1 song on there. I guess I was pleasantly surprised because this is not what I expected this song to sound like! It is such a fun, upbeat, dance party song. What I love about this is how much it resembles the disco era. Now, that genre is one of my guilty pleasures so of course I would love any modern song that sounds like it came out of it. I'm really enjoying this tune.

Acting Mindset

As I sit here reading my script to prepare for my final scene in my acting class, I thought it'd be a swell idea if I wrote down what I was thinking.

After all, I'm always thinking the same thing when reading lines: does this sound real?

My Top 10 Graduation Tunes

It's that time of year again: where all the high school seniors are celebrated and sent off into the real world. I graduate June 7th and, being the cheesy, sentimental freak I am, just had to put together a graduation playlist. The couple weeks leading up to the big day, I've been listening to these songs a lot. Some of them bring back nostalgic memories and some just make you feel good and positive about what lies ahead. Nevertheless, music can really make you think, and we all get these many feelings rushing back at us during this time. Take a minute. Just stop and think about all that you've accomplished and how exciting and mysterious the future will be. These songs are in no particular order.

Review: The Body Shop Banana Shampoo + Conditioner

I had heard so much about this stuff over the past few years here on the Internet: Banana Shampoo and Conditioner by The Body Shop. After all, anything hyped up this much is worth trying right? Well I decided to find out for myself.

Way back in September I decided to go on a "health kick", so to speak, for my hair. I had straightened my hair up until about 3 years ago when I figured I would just go natural. Like me, people with thick, curly, frizzy, and damaged hair are always on the hunt for moisturizing products. Upon hearing about this natural product and how great bananas are supposed to be for hair, I took a trip to the mall one day and dropped in to The Body Shop. I had never been there before, but have a not-so-secret obsession with Bath & Body Works so of course this store is right up my alley.

Welcome!

Well, I finally did it. Yup, I made a blog. For some reason it's taken me years to actually make one, after countless visits to others, and decided ---- or rather had an epiphany--- to create one for myself. I don't know why I didn't think of doing this sooner.
